5 Things We've Been Watching : March 2019
We love video here at PEG (obviously) and talk about it pretty much non-stop. So, we wanted to share with you five things that caught our eye, started a conversation or gave us a little inspiration over the last month.
Creating Saturday Night Live: Cue Cards - SNL
Why it’s a thing: Everyone knows Saturday Night Live. But this is a side you don't usually get to see. The cue cards play such a huge role in the production of a weekly, live show like an SNL broadcast and the fact that it takes an unsung group of eight people (yes, eight!) to create all these cue cards is insane. Plus, we love a good lesson about spacing and typography slipped in there as well.
Make Room | Netflix
Why it’s a thing: The best thing about this spot is how seamlessly it flows from one Netflix reference to another without being an overtly in-your-face Netflix ad. Each clip alludes to various Netflix shows that highlight all types of strong, powerful women. It was such a nice way to celebrate Women's History month (and also celebrate Netflix.)
The Unsung Art Form of Color Grading
Why it’s a thing: Color Grading is important. Really important. It can make or break the way a final piece turns out. People always ask us about getting their raw footage and they forget how much love and care goes into that footage AFTER it leave the camera. It really is an art form.
BEEN THERE, MADE THAT. – TRAILER
Why it’s a thing: This is a really fun and creative way to do a tourism-type video. Not only does it nicely showcase the beautiful views of Seattle, but is a perfect example of how video can be a part of a much larger campaign. This first video is merely a trailer for a full "season" of five-ish minute videos that all capture different aspects of the city. Once you watch the videos, the website helps direct you to places featured in the video and gives more information. Its a very well put together tourism program. Who wants to go explore Seattle?
Inside Scotiabank Arena – Episode 6: Leafs Game Presentation
Why it’s a thing: The fact this was on our list should not surprise anyone. Pritt Entertainment Group's foundation is in sports production and sports entertainment. We love seeing these behind-the-scenes people get recognized. It is not as easy as fans might think! There are a LOT of people that have to work together to make a game day run smoothly. But if they do their job well, you won't ever notice them.
