My Editing Playlist: D.J.
When it’s time to get down to business putting timelines together, communicating with clients, and making things happen, it’s time for the AirPods to go in and it’s time to really focus! What’s playing in those AirPods can vary from day to day and minute by minute! Let’s see if I can’t give you a little glimpse into what makes my brain function best on the daily!
Morning Playlist
If it’s in the morning, I’m generally listening to a local sports talk morning show as I find it fairly entertaining and keeps me up-to-date on what’s going on in the sports scene. Working in sports, I always want to know the latest and what’s going on through a local and national lens!
Throughout the workday
Throughout the workday, I will generally skip around a little bit! It might be a little alternative rock listening to our Akron-native Black Keys, or reminiscing of my “younger” days when I would spend my summers at The Warped Tour listening to Paramore, Blink 182, Green Day, etc! I’ll also switch it up and listen to some calm, educational podcasts. Such as NPR's “This American Life” or “The TED Radio Hour.” And then maybe finishing up my podcast listening by pulling my jeans up nice and tight and listening/watching “Your Mom’s House!”
Quitting Time
Quittin’ time! The commute home is usually the time I think and recap the day. Replaying the day to see where I could have improved, what I could have done differently, and thinking of how I can achieve even more the next day. That’s usually done with another afternoon drive talk show that I can easily tune in/out depending on where I am in my thoughts!
My listening habits can change all the time just depending on the mood, activity, or what I am finding interesting on that given day. It’s hard to answer the age-old question of “Who’s your favorite band/artist?” Because with so much accessibility at any given time, you can literally listen to whatever you want, whoever you want, WHENEVER you want. So just because I’m listening to Britney Spears this second, doesn’t mean I couldn’t be listening to Mushroomhead the next!
