5 Things We've Been Watching: January 2021
5 Things We've Been Watching : January 2021
We love video here at PEG (obviously) and talk about it pretty much non-stop. So, we wanted to share with you five things that caught our eye, started a conversation or gave us a little inspiration over the last month.
"The Late Show" Open Director's Cut
Why it’s a thing: So, this video itself isn't new. BUT it is one of favorite examples of a style of drone videography called Tilt Shift that basically turns the real world into a tiny micro world view with just a little post-production trickery. Yes, those are real shots of NYC, not a tiny town of miniatures. This style is so fun and has so much potential to give videos a toy-ish, stop-motion charm without the tedious production of stop-motion.
Nickelodeon Injects Broadcast AR Fun into Saints vs. Bears NFL Playoff Game
Why it’s a thing: This was one of the most fun ways to watch sports - maybe ever. Designed for kids, it was definitely watched but A LOT of people. Fun graphics, bright colors and even some teaching moments (because we could all use that sometimes) created a unique and extremely engaging viewing experience. We are little surprised the NFL was the first league to do this, but we are positive they won't be the last.
2020 Clio Sports Winners
Why it’s a thing: Speaking of sports, this is a yearly source of inspiration for us around the office. The Clio awards showcase the best of the best in everything from commercials to packaging to interactive to partnerships - you name it. If it's creative, it's there. Best part? If sports aren't your thing, they also have awards for Fashion and Beauty, Health, Music and Entertainment.
Get Low: The best deals for the freshest meals | Kroger
Why it’s a thing: How cute is this commercial? Yes, this grocery store commercial. Not something you say everyday. The animation is fun, creative and pretty non-traditional for a grocer. (Certainly got our attention!) Plus, in a world where you might not get to film in a crowded store or with the general public, animation is a great alternative.
2021 Creative Trends from Adobe Stock | Adobe Creative Cloud
Why it’s a thing: Adobe knows a thing or two about creative. So, we were interested to see what they had to say about creative trends for 2021. What we liked most, though, was this covered everything from design to video and even included audio trends. A little bit or something creative for everyone. Are you inspired yet?
