5 Things We've Been Watching : April 2019
We love video here at PEG (obviously) and talk about it pretty much non-stop. So, we wanted to share with you five things that caught our eye, started a conversation or gave us a little inspiration over the last month.
Our Planet - Behind The Scenes
Why it’s a thing: We all watch these crazy wildlife documentaries like Our Planet and Planet Earth. But did you ever really stop to think HOW they got those shots? Well, first off, it is a LOT of patience. And from there it is a lot of talent, a little luck and cases of pretty cool gear. These guys even mention that these shoots are the best because they get to pull our the biggest and best gear that you wouldn't take on just any shoot. But then again capturing Cheetahs on the grasslands of Kenya is not just any shoot.
Los Angeles Chargers Schedule Release
Why it’s a thing: NFL Schedule releases from teams have become a competition all their own. Teams are always trying to be the most creative, the most ridiculous, the most memorable - whichever. And this year was no exception. There were plenty of good ones this year but as a group of creatives ourselves - we couldn't resist this stock footage-filled video from the Chargers.
Pete For America | Design Toolkit
Why it’s a thing: Well first off - no, this isn't a video, and no, this isn't a political endorsement. But what this is is a beautiful brand that has been beautifully adapted for use in a modern campaign age. Having grass-roots support is great, but having that support be fully equipped with HR logos, the right fonts and a full understanding of your brand, that is just above and beyond.
Site Tour 360 - Jumbo Shrimp Game
Why it’s a thing: This is a pretty cool look at a use of 360 video. 360 is a fun and unexpected way to give tours of different facilities, and in this case, stadiums. And if you click through on the link, it takes you to a 360 photo of the inside of the stadium that was put up on Google Maps almost instantaneously. Not the most complicated technology, but its pretty cool.
Budweiser | This Bud’s For 3 | Dwyane Wade
Why it’s a thing: Did you watch this yet? Because if you haven't, go grab your tissues and have a seat. This spot from Budweiser is just beautifully done. And it is a great example of athletes being much more important than the game they play.
