5 Things We've Been Watching: July 2018

5 Things We've Been Watching : July 2018

We love video here at PEG (obviously) and talk about it pretty much non-stop. So, we wanted to share with you five things that caught our eye, started a conversation or gave us a little inspiration over the last month.

LeBron Free Agency 360

Watch It Here Why it’s a thing: As an agency based in Lebron's hometown, we were obviously watching all the commotion surrounding his free agency. This 360-style cartoon version of his free agency from Bleacher Report literally lets you be surrounded by his options. While we all know how it ended, it is still fun to watch and rewatch this fun interpretation of the chaos, filled with lots of recognizable characters and pop culture references hidden all over. You see something new every time.

Tune in New York

Watch It Here Why it’s a thing: Usually picking the music for a video is a really important part of the process. This video, however, uses the sounds (and songs) of NYC as the background. Its a pretty masterful use of sound design that not only helps tell the story, but also really puts the viewer in the middle of all the action happening.

Night Owl - Process

Watch It Here Why it’s a thing: Our producers are always watching videos to get inspired and learn some new things. Watching someone else's creative process is sometimes the perfect things to get a little jumpstart for your own. This short "how it's made"-style video shows how a person took an owl from a hand-drawn sketch into a full-animated owl. Makes it look so easy, doesn't it?

A 3 MiNUTE EXPERiMENT; IT WORKED!!!

Watch It Here Why it’s a thing: This was on our list for 3 reasons. 1- We love any video that shows a creative use of drone video. And this one, with its tiny "hummingbird" drone, certainly does that. 2- Our team has been doing a little research on vlogging, because(spoiler!) we might be getting ready to possibly release one of our own . 3- It is always interesting to see what kind of post-production goes into videos like this. Again, people make it look so easy, but in reality, it is A LOT of work.

Edgar Martinez number retirement video tribute

Watch It Here Why it’s a thing: A few of our team members were out at the IDEA Conference last week and saw this video as part of a finalists voting package. It was nominated for Best Tribute Video. And it won. Do we need to say anything else? (Except warn you to have some tissues handy...)
