The Getting to Know PEG series continues! This time it is my turn to answer all of the questions, check it out!
For a long time my plan in life was to be a psychologist. I was faithfully going through the motions and going to school until one year, while in New York for spring break, I went on a tour of NBC Studios. I was so blown away by all of the behind-the-scenes production that went into the making of TV magic that I got home and changed my major to Communication. The rest is history.
Since then, I’ve produced my own show, interviewed some of my favorite musicians, and even attended the Emmy Awards. I love being a part of PEG because there is always something new to learn in our field, and working here, I get to learn from the best.
Overall, I enjoyed the Grammys. Nothing brings people together the way that music does. I’m excited to see what next year brings and how the Grammys celebrate the artists and music we’re sure to fall in love with in 2016!
...But of the multifarious (vocab nerd note: use the word in order to remember it) items in my day, I think my favorite parts include going through the early creative stages of concepts for videos and meeting new people.
Social media is crazy. We rely on it for everything now. It’s how we know when one of our Facebook friends got engaged or how we know when celebrities break up on Twitter. And it’s how we get record deals….? Well, for some people...
Things on social media spread like wild fire, so why wouldn’t you want information about your business to do the same?
I’ve heard stories of these events ever since I started working here. I’ve got to say that after experiencing it first hand, it definitely lived up to my expectations.
They had the basic formula of an award show that we’re all use to seeing, but the iHeartRadio Music Awards added another ingredient: Sincerity.
PEG has been on the road, and while I’ve mastered the art of navigating airports and packing everything I need into a tiny carry-on, I’ve also learned that there are a lot of things to consider when doing a video or photo shoot out-of-state that you wouldn't usually consider.
PEG officially has an award shelf! We were nominated for and won our first Akron Addy Award last month for our University of Akron’s Men’s Basketball bus ads. The award ceremony was held at the beautiful Civic Theatre and was attended by the best production houses and advertising agencies in Akron.
We’re so used to being wowed and surprised that we’ve come to expect it from award shows and concerts. As it turns out, the most shocking thing someone can do now is stand in the middle of a stage with nothing to hide behind.
